On October 22, 2024, representatives of our department, within the framework of the Jean Monnet Module project “Monitoring of environmental objects in the context of European integration” (MEOUE), funded by the Erasmus+ international technical assistance program of the European Union, visited Ivano-Frankivsk Lyceum №. 24. Professor S.A. Kurta, Doctor of Technical Sciences from the Department of Chemistry, along with other project participants, delivered an open lecture to the students of Class 11-B on the topic “European and Ukrainian experience in calculating air quality indices.” Professor Kurta provided data on the environmental situation concerning atmospheric pollution in the Ivano-Frankivsk region by six gases: CO, CO₂, H₂S, NO, NO₂, CH₂O, and α, β, and gamma radiation particles. Detailed maps of the Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia regions were presented, featuring precise monitoring data of these gas concentrations across all districts of the region, including border areas with Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, and Poland.
We express our gratitude to Principal Ihor Yevhenovych Melnychuk for the opportunity to hold this open lecture.
