Students in grades 9–11 at the Ivano-Frankivsk private Lyceum “VS School” actively participated in a workshop on environmental monitoring. During the event, they explored methods used to assess the condition of the environment. Particular attention was given to the Air Quality Index (AQI), a key indicator of air purity and pollution levels.
This initiative — aimed at introducing youth to the fundamentals of environmental monitoring — is implemented by chemistry teachers involved in the EU-funded Erasmus+ project “Monitoring of Environmental Objects in the Context of European Integration” (No. 101127251-МЕОЕУ-ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH).
Participants were introduced to modern instruments and digital tools used by eco-analysts, gaining firsthand experience of environmental assessment techniques. The event fostered awareness of the importance of air quality and environmental responsibility. Through hands-on research and experimentation, students discovered how chemistry can be both engaging and impactful.
