European Experience in Environmental Monitoring at Ignacy Łukasiewicz Rzeszow University of Technology

As part of the implementation of the project 101127251 – MEOEU – ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH+ “Monitoring of Environmental Objects in the Context of European Integration,” the lecturers of the Department of Chemistry, Prof. Kurta S.A., Assoc. Prof. Hatsevych O.M., and Assoc. Prof. Fedorchenko S.V., made a working trip to Ignacy Łukasiewicz Rzeszow University of Technology. During the visit, they attended the Faculty of Chemistry, and the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Architecture, which allowed them to become acquainted with modern European methods of environmental monitoring studied in relevant courses and research in this field.

Prof. Kurta S.A. delivered a lecture to students of the Faculty of Chemistry, highlighting the results of air quality monitoring in the Carpathian region, focusing on transboundary pollution transfer and the need for close cooperation between neighbouring countries in air pollution control and prevention. During the meetings, opportunities for scientific cooperation between the universities within the framework of common scientific interests were discussed. The high level of infrastructure development and modern technical equipment of the university’s educational and research laboratories were impressive.

It is expected that the acquired experience and prospects for cooperation with such a prominent technological university will contribute to the effective implementation of the project objectives and the development of eco-analytical and chemical research at the Department of Chemistry.
