Lecture for participants of the All-Ukrainian Olympiad

On March 7, an atmosphere of curiosity and eagerness for new knowledge filled the Department of Chemistry. Young chemists, participants of the All-Ukrainian Olympiad, continued their intensive preparation for the final stage under the guidance of experienced scientists. Together with associate professor Sofia Fedorchenko, the students enhanced their practical skills in general and analytical chemistry. In addition, students expanded their knowledge by learning about the implementation of the grant project “Monitoring of environmental objects in the context of European integration”, which is being implemented with the support of the EU at the Department of Chemistry, іn particular, they listened to a lecture from an optional course taught as part of the grant project. As part of this course, they completed a laboratory project entitled “Qualitative Analysis of Pollutant Ions in Environmental Objects.”

Discussing Ukraine’s ongoing European integration in the fields of environment and climate change, as well as the public’s active participation in these processes, helps introduce students to the practice of monitoring environmental objects and will inspire students to actively engage in ecological initiatives. Collaboration between scientists and talented youth paves the way for a new generation of environmentally conscious citizens, ready to shape the future of the country.
